Marin Memorial Day Races 10K, Marin

Another horrific performance: 46:07. Just never really kicked it in. Was passed by our VP of Marketing, Sue Forbes, who turned in a PR for herself at 45:45.

Kirkland Half Marathon and 5K

Perhaps still recovering from last week's 24 Hour mountain bike race, I turned in an ungodly slow 22:33 5K time. It was a bit hilly so this was good for fourth in my age group.

24 Hours of Adrenaline- Laguna Seca

Somehow my friend Laurent convinced me to do this 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race. I must be crazy. I'm not even a mountain biker. I did the first lap on my own bike. Its a Trek OCLV hardtail. Fantastic on the climbs, but pretty skittish on the singletrack downhill. One of our teammates Dirk convinced me to ride his sweet $7000 titanium Moots for the second lap. I took it out again on my third lap. His light went out at the top of Hurl Hill. I rode down the backside in complete pitch blackness wiping out several times of course. I was covered with blood when I got back out. I left after that lap.

Our team (Team FrenchCalifornianGerman Superheros) came in 11th out of 32 in the 200+ agegroup category. Results at http://www.24hoursofadrenalin.com/twenty4/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_raceResults&eventContentID=43dc1254-7e90-e2a3-b322-40c71aeb9c59

Bought a new Fox Reba racing fork and plan to ride in the early spring while running races are rarer. If that happens I'll consider doing this again.

Surf Bagel 10K - Lewes, DE

I went to my cousin's wedding in Rehoboth this weekend. Lucky for me there was a race in Lewes on Sunday morning, the morning after the reception. It was a beautiful sunny day. The course was just ok, through local neighborhoods. I did it in around 45 minutes, pretty slow but good for third amongst the slow East Coasters. Have the little bagel medal I received, but unfortunately results arent posted on the race website.
